OK, so I hear there was a ride at Brock Creek and one at the 160. But do I hear how they went - NO! So are you guys just hiding the fact that you didn't go ride or the ride sucked or the ride was one of the best yet! Curious minds just want to know because this mind can't go ride yet....
I guess I will. Seems like no one posts ride or event results here anymore! Boy you fall out for awhile and you just can't get any info on anything. Thought that was one of the reasons we got this website! My bad, I assumed. . .
Jim, sorry I haven't posted a ride report before now, but I have just now calmed down enough to write about it. It was AWESOME!!!. It was increadible, It was unbelieveable. You should go ahead and sell your bikes right now because you missed it and there will never be another one this cool again. I don'tt know what to say, it was undescribely epic. Once in a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There were three of us that got to soak in this awesome event; Sid, Richard Kirby, and myself. RT was scheduled to attend but I think he woke up a little under the weather. Man I feel bad for him, he almost got to be there to soak it in. When we got to the campground there were several riders there but no one was riding. It was about 99.9 percent humidity. It wasn't raining, but you got wet if you moved forward in the cloud of mist. Kirby made it about a mile before he gave up on his goggles. I made it all day with mine, but I had to use my glove as a windshield wiper often. Sid wore his safety glasses instead of goggles and had to clean them off often. We rode 21, 22, 23, and then 22, 21 back to the truck. It was wet leaves and slick roots about all day. I think everyone backed off a little and we avoided any major crashes for the day. The big creek after the fence trail was bone dry. There was no water in the creek at slick rock but the rock was still as slick as ever. Squrrels were everywhere. We saw a few deer, and about 15 wild turkeys. Made it back to the truck around lunchtime, loaded up and headed for the house. It was a great day to be in the woods!!!!
Now that right there was an epic post. Thanks Tim for the awe inspiring post and description of what I would call a somewhat crappy day to ride. But you guys pued together and made the best of it. Wish I could have been there to relish the ride. So now my bikes - even the 2001 KTM400 exc are up for sale. Just can't live with the fact that I missed out on the best ride EVER! Gonna puirchase me some video games and maybe, just maybe I can relive that ride with one of those. . .
