Well, Jim...you were right, as usual.   Those tires are a beast in the rocks. This is my 2nd harescramble with them in nothing but rocks and I can't barely see where they've been scratched.

I rode the last 4 laps of the harescramble yesterday on a front flat with it and it still handled fairly well considering.  

Tubliss is my next investment.

Love me some of those bridgestone tyres! Those 403/404 combos and the Michelin really good 4mm UHD tubes are the tickets. I think the tubeless thingy is just a marketing deal.

I'm torn on the tubliss situation.   I don't like the fact that it's highly recommended to use on new tires only, or what seems to be a more labor intensive tire changing (just by watching the how-to video).  This was the first time i've had a UHD tube cut down, I know at least 6 other riders that had flats that day, a testament to the rockyness of the trail.

look into those Michelin tubes - it's like running an extra tire within your tyre! They really are that thick!

Will do Jim!   I hear lots of guys talk about how much they weigh, and they may be true, but I can't see (unless you are really at the top of your game) how that extra 1lb is going to effect 99% of us riders.

Better to adhere to the ground my son!!! 1 pound or 1 flat, let me see????? It's a real issue. But as you said, most of us won't even notice it except when you are installing them.
