What a good day to be on a dirtbike.  Actually when you are 73 any day you can spend on a dirtbike is a good day.  Good trail conditions and good weather at the 160 made for a great day for the Post Christmas Ride.

Diffee, Doty, Tim, Rusty, Alan, Kent, Bruce, Lloyd, Lynn, an myself all enjoyed the day.  Hope I didn't miss anyone. 

I think all got in 4 or 5 laps other than Lynn, his 200 just didn't want to run right.

Got a new bridge laid down across the V ditch coming out onto the field section.   We decided to name it  "Rusty's Bridge"  since she laid down across the ditch the lap before it was installed.

Kent, Alan and Rusty done a lap "Feet On The Pegs No Butt On The Seat" for the entire lap .  It seemed that when the lap was done Kent may have suffered some severe muscle exhaustion or muscle cramps in his legs, not sure which or maybe both, but it seemed he was feeling the effects.

RT is correct.  It was a GREAT riding day.  Somebody had to take the picture.

I got the hard throttle, high rpm power cut out problem I was having yesterday on my Beta figured out today.

I used the KISS diagnostic process.  Keep It Simple Stupid.  I felt sure it was a fuel delivery, starvation issue at high rpm being caused by a possible float problem, or trash in the carb restricting flow.  I started at the fuel source before removing the Carb, The fuel tank. 

After unhooking the fuel line at the carb and turning the fuel on it seemed to flow normal but after a few seconds it started to get slower and slower.  At the same time it was getting slower I could hear a gurggle sound from my fuel cap.  The problem was the one way valve inside my fuel cap going defunked resulting in lack of fuel flow to the carb.

Changed fuel cap and problem solved.

Now you need to help Lynn figure his issues out with his KTM. The idle screw seems to not work and it just keeps fouling plugs. But it starts and idles fine, but does not like to putter around at low speeds. Mystery for sure. . . 

Glad everyone had a great day and it apprears that all made it out of the woods in one piece. Leg craps are a thing of my past since using Cytomax and doing lots of leg work. Perhaps we could all use a bit more of the latter. Good photo too Bob. Wish I could have been there. I would have ridden about two laps, got bored and headed to the NFS lands. Oh and thanks for taking care of the bridge work guys. Now we know who to call on when we have to install the next two bridges at Social Hill!!! Step right up. . .

Seems like someone mentioned that as a possible casue .  Glad you got it figured out.  

Bruce, I remember you mentioning that about the fuel cap.  Correct and spot on.

As for Lynn's problem?  I think he needs to remember what was the last change or mod he done to the bike before the problem started.  Then go back to his previous settings or set-up.

I kicked his engine over with the kick starter, the compression is good.  Lynn told me Pruss had checked his lower end for leaks and all was good.  I think Lynn has changed something or modified something that has caused his problem.
