What a great day to be in the woods! Tim, Sid, Raymond and myself got in 30 miles of Brock's best and lived to tell about it. We had a good time, but the warmer temps were starting to come into play as sweat was starting to form on folks. The trails were pretty good considering the fact that rocks made up 90% of the trail consistency. Even the "V" sections were made better because the trail was not slick. I rode the KTM 400 and that little scoot can certainly grunt with the best of them and got me through the day. I really rode single track for the first time since September and it showed. My confidence level to wick uo the throttle is not there yet and the KTM's suspension was off due to its sitting up for 7 months or more. But taht doesn't mean the fun factor wasn't there. I didn't crash but only once and it was more of a tip over about 2/3's of the way up truck hill at the left turn, but made it great the second run over. I think Sid said he fell about three time in the first three miles! I saw one as he just slid down in a mud section and got his clothes dirty. All in all we all had a great time and it was certainly good to see Raymond back out on the trails and ridinig good. For those that missed this epic ride you will have to wait until next time to catch it. I hope the NCCA tourney was what you had hoped for on that fine day and the wings and crumpits were good along with the koolaid!!!!
I got in about 30 miles at Hickís Corner in Ft. Smith. Itís a privately owned 5 mike loop near the Arkansas River. It has a little bit of everything. Some woods, a turn track, couple of SX jumps and yes a few of Jimís favorite sand sections. On the bright side there were very few rocks.
It was a good day, I was tired when I got home though, It was the combination of getting up a 3 am. and driving round trip 400 miles plus 31 on dirt bike. Worth every penny. I hope you heal quickly RT.
