Yes it was a little cool at the start of the day, but it quickly warmed up after the first of several laps in the woods and on the MX track! Tim, Sid, Bobby, Lynn, Kent and myself made the trip to the 160 for a play day. We had to do a couple of stops on the first lap to clear some downed trees, but that didn't take long, Tim, Sid and I made two laps before the other guys even got started. They were "dialing in" the Suzuki RM250 that Kent had purchased a while back. He said it was getting closer. Closer to what I don't know. Anyway we just kept laying down laps. Were turned in a little over 35 miles. It was so much fun. A couple of things came to our attention. We really need to find another place to ride. We cannot keep riding this area into the ground!!! It is so much fun that you just want to keep ripping through the woods. We started at a little after 9am and finished around 12 with stop to check ith the guys to see if they wanted to join us - nope, dailing in the RM. And off we'd go. On the last lap in the woods Sid decided to change the fun factor and go tree climbing - with his bike in tow??? I was right behind him when this occured and it was the strangest thing I had seen on a woods bike. His scoot tried its best to shoot up into the trees with Sid being tossed aside. Luckily he was not hurt and the only damage to his bike was a torn radiator shroud. Oh he and Tim had a couple of ground tests on the MX track, but other than that we had a great time. I am to assume that the other crew did as well and I hope they got the RM sorted out. After all there were three of them!
Back to my concern of the 160. We really do need to start looking at other areas and contacting people to see if we can lease, borrow, ride on or use their land. ASKING is how we got the Ross property and the 160. So please start asking again. As many folks as we know surely someone knows someone who knows someone. Arkansas has lot of land and some of it is ready for us to use. We are talking about riding, not event use. Timber companies, private lands, or commerical property. See what you can do ok???
Sorry you guys missed out on another fine day in the woods. It was mighty. I bet the crumpets and lockes were as well huh?
