Well with the death of Raymond's Mother and Steve's get off at the qualifier our little group of five was cut down to three for the final round of the Black Jack Enduro Circuit in OKC. It was pretty much a repeat of last year with lots of rain Saturday afternoon and evening. The word around camp was the City (that owns the property) wanted to cancel the event all together. The Okie Dirt Riders quickly made a deal with the City to shorten the course and run loops on about 10-15 miles of trail. This required them to change the format from a time keeper to Qualifier. One loop for super short, two loops for short course and three loops for long course. To me the trails were much drier than they where last year when they only removed a small portion of the trail and kept the time keeper format. I was feeling pretty good on the first loop with Lloyd, Sid and myself riding real close to each other. I decided to mess with Sid a little and passed him on a long whoop section only to loose it about three corners later when I dropped off in a briar invested ravine. It took me several minutes to dig myself out of that one. With only two test on the day I figured my day was done. On the second loop I came up on a guy buried to his seat. I decided to pull off and help him get out. While we were in the midst of getting him out another rider showed up and even with me pointing and showing him the alternate line he proceeded to bury up in the same hole as the last guy. I figured since I was already standing there I would get him out too. I decided I better get the heck out of there before some other idiot fills that hole again. Turns out it was like 1/2 mile from the end. Lloyd and Sid felt like they had a good day but still to this moment nobody knows as the scoring team threw up their hands at the end of the day and said we can't figure out. They gave every one a copy of their mylar and said watch the website to post results. No trophies were handed out. Did I mention that OKC is on the AMA National Enduro schedule for 2013? I hope they don't get any rain or the City turns their back because I don't think they NEPG folks would like it if they have to cancel that one. At least the ODR won't have to worry about scoring.
