Arkansas Dirt Riders

I'm going down early Saturday morning and plan to get gone by 7am so I can leave before the heat really kicks in.

So if there are any brave souls that want to join me, come on down. Be glad to have you join in the fun and get your

arrow pulling in! Oh, and bring something to put your arrows in and plenty to drink. . . I don't want to have to drag your

body out of the woods.................

Well, Raymond, Chris & I joined Jim and departed pipeline @ 7:20 and had the remainder of arrows for this years event down by 10:30.  The only arrows remaining are a portion of those from last years long course.   Maybe those can be removed sometime this year.  Oh, and by the way.  Where is Tree Road?????  Probably should study for that one because there may be a test later.

yippeee, all of this year's arrows are gone from the entire course! With what the crew did last week and after the event and what we did this weekend all of the arrows were pulled. AND we got 31 miles of riding in as well while we pulled. Even CB didn't seem to care that we ventured over Buckeye Ridge. Oh, oh, oh, I know where Tree road is. Can I tell, huh can I huh???

So from now until Oct. 1 there is nothing but riding. So get out there and enjoy those trails. They are in good shape and well ridden in. I want to thank Sid, Raymond and CB for helping to day and getting this chore finished up.

Stellar year. First we put on a flawless event and second I think we broke a record for arrow pulling in a timely fashion. Good job ADR.

er, actually you guys didn't miss out on the arrow pulling. There seems to be one section that has not been pulled from last year!!! Not pointing any fingers, but Steve didn't get those arrows down from the Goat trail section on the Long course. I think most of those are still there unless the goats ate them. . . So if you really want to get some points time in, there you go a section just for you.

I feel that the goats have been laying low during this hear spell. We discussed the goat trail and it's history at lunch yesterday. Wonder if there has been many traveling that route lately.

They certainly didn't look as though they had ridden Buckeye recently! Think I might have to go venture onto the goat trail  on my next ride there and even go on done the old part that includes

"the Rock". Haven't been there in awhile. Any other takers??? Ah, come on, there has got to be a couple of you that want to know where the "Rock" is located. There are some in the club that

don't even know what that term means. It was pretty cool until about a third of the way through the event one year. Then folks decided to try and pass folks just before it and wound up down the hill!

Sort of cause a stir until a crew showed up to direct riders across the "Rock". And Steve thought he had the market on "last man standing" sort of trails. One of the reasons we took it out of the enduro route. That and someone bought a section of land in between the goat trail. 

Jim, It was in 2004, when the ADR raced "The Rock".  It was before I Joined ADR,I raced it.  There was one guy on my row,that took his helmet off,sat down and enjoyed the Fiasco.  He told me later that some  of the riders went on down the hill out of sight.  The Rock was late in the race and racers were exhausted.  I can remember that off camber section. I actually would pick a tree and run to  it , just to make sure I didn't go down the hill.  After the race there was a nice ledge to run.

I'm game!  I will face "The Rock" 

 

I'm trying to clear my schedule to ride this weekend.  Anyone going to Ross?  I know it's gonna be hot, but I'm not sure if I can get there for a 7am leave time.
